Gary E. Klein

Gary E. Klein Esq., was appointed to the Board effective December 2, 2024. He is a long-time litigator and advocate in the field of consumer protection, bankruptcy, and affordable housing. He started his career as a staff attorney and manager in legal services programs in Philadelphia and New Hampshire, where he defended foreclosures for low-income homeowners. He then worked for 10 years at the National Consumer Law Center in Boston where he originated many of its sustainable homeownership projects. 

Gary has also been in private practice, where he litigated national class actions against banks and other lenders.  Among other things, he was lead lawyer in many cases challenging mortgage servicing abuses and lending discrimination. Most recently, Gary worked as Senior Trial Counsel in the Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General, at Greater Boston Legal Services as a Senior Litigation Consultant, and as an instructor at Boston University Law School.  His resume is available on-line at https://www.gkleinconsulting.net/resume
